Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard
Hello Books Lovers,
today I have a super preview review for you, of a book that will be released tomorrow for Mondadori, a New York Times Bestseller, a new title for an author that you may already know for her previous works. Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard, new high fantasy, the first of a trilogy. The author on social media gives writing updates quite often, and at the moment she is working on Blade Breaker, the second volume.
For this title I absolutely have to spend a few words in favor of the cover, in its simplicity it is very beautiful, I can’t wait to have the book in my hands, we will talk about the plot later, but since when I first saw the cover, I got attracted to this book.
I’m telling you, I really like the plot, of course Sorasa Sarn is my favorite, but the other characters are as interesting as she is, Dom, Andry, Coreyn, Erida and the others. There is a good story behind it, but the prose is very, very slow. I had expected to read this book in a couple of days and instead it took me weeks.
It is full of details and reflections that perhaps, if removed or lightened, would have made everything smoother. I’m not the only one who has had this thought. Because of this slowness, a 400-page book seemed like an 800-page one, and it’s a real shame because this adventure deserved so much more.
Corayne is the chosen one, but she knew nothing about her fate before Dom and Sorasa arrived. In her hands is placed the destiny of the kingdom, and a sword that belonged to her father and that will help her in her mission. Throughout the book, other people will join their group. And with the chapters viewed from different points, our protagonists have a very important mission to complete, while having to run away and hide from their enemy at the same time.
3.5 stars for this book, let’s hope the next volume will be smoother to take the rating this story deserves.
