Opposite of always by Justin A. Reynolds
Have a good week Books Lovers,
what beautiful book are you reading in this period? I am marking so many interesting releases on the agenda, most of Mondadori, but I am really looking forward to them.
But moving on to today’s review, I’d like to talk to you about a book released last year for Piemme, titled Opposite of always by Justin A. Reynolds.
This book is about a timeless, exciting, and unique love story that will steel your attention throughout the reading. You won’t know where it really started and where it will end. Jack King is a main character not very different from others, but he has a peculiarity that not everyone has, because he apparently is able to go back in time, and will use these opportunities to try to save his girlfriend Kate from a deadly disease.
But that’s not all, because this book represents a real adventure from the first page to the last, and you will have to get to the end to see if Jack has really succeeded in his intent.
But he is not our only character, we also have secondary characters, such as his best friends, Frenny and Jillian, and it can be said that they too, in their own way, had their important role in the book.
The writing style is light, it will be almost like sliding on water. Fast, flowing as it may not seem in the first pages of the book, and the descriptions are not excessive, but enough to get the reader to the heart of the story.
When Jack and Kate meet at a party, bonding until sunrise over their mutual love of Froot Loops and their favorite flicks, Jack knows he’s falling hard. Soon she’s meeting his best friends, Jillian and Franny, and Kate wins them over as easily as she did Jack. But then Kate dies. And their story should end there. Yet Kate’s death sends Jack back to the beginning, the moment they first meet, and Kate’s there again. Healthy, happy, and charming as ever. Jack isn’t sure if he’s losing his mind. Still, if he has a chance to prevent Kate’s death, he’ll take it. Even if that means believing in time travel. However, Jack will learn that his actions are not without consequences. And when one choice turns deadly for someone else close to him, he has to figure out what he’s willing to do to save the people he loves.
