Hello Books Lovers,

How much do you know about Stranger Things? Have you seen the tv series? I haven’t seen all three seasons, but I know things you don’t know. If you want to find out where Eleven comes from and want to find out more about it and more about Hawkins’ project then you must also read Gwenda Bond’s Suspicious Minds published by Sperling & Kupfer.

I actually arrive a little late with this review since the book came out on April 30, but now one of my favorite sentences has become “better late than never”, and I finally finished reading this beautiful and full of surprises book too. Gwenda Bond has a particular, descriptive and reflective way of writing and the story was really smooth. It doesn’t get you to a point and say “I didn’t understand the meaning of this part”, she seems to think almost everything while she writes, she leaves nothing out.

You will not arrive at Eleven before the end of the book, but it will help you find out more about how the project was born, and you will find out who Dr. Brenner, Terry, Alice, Gloria, Ken, Andrew and many other important characters in the story of Stranger Things.

Each chapter will push you to continue and read the next one, and the next one until you reach the end that will make you remain open-mouthed but at the same time it will make a lot of clarity.

I love when they make books from a TV series to reveal secrets never covered in the series. Many books have come out for Stranger Things, but the best, the ones that really reveal something are this and the sequel to this always published by Sperling. If you liked the TV series then, or maybe you need something more to convince yourself, read these two books.

It’s the summer of 1969. The world is changing, and Terry Ives isn’t content to watch from the sidelines. When word gets around about an important government experiment, she signs on as a test subject.

But behind the walls of Hawkins National Laboratory – and the piercing gaze of its director, Dr Martin Brenner – lurks a dark conspiracy. To face it, she’ll need the help of her fellow test subjects, including a mysterious young girl with unexplainable powers. . .

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
