The lost book of the white by Cassandra Clare and Wesley Chu
Hello Books Lovers,
in dark and difficult times like this, without permission to move freely, and with the ever-faster winter approaching, all we really needed was a new book by Cassandra Clare, joined by Wesley Chu, to give us finally the second volume of the trilogy dedicated to two of the most beloved characters of the prolific Shadowhunters saga. You probably already know who I’m talking about, but I say it anyway because the Malec deserve to be named endlessly. Oh yes I’m talking about Alec and Magnus, but in this second volume there is a great addition. If in the first book they lived their adventure alone, here they will be joined by Jace, Clary, Isabelle and Simon.
Remember the moment when Clary and Sebastian go to see Ragnor Fell in City of Glass and not finding him they think he’s dead, and Magnus tricks us into saying he’s really dead, ending up believing it himself? Well Magnus was actually there that day, before Ragnor left pretending his death to save himself from a greater evil. The truth is, however, that despite having tried, he could not escape Samael, who also brought Shyniun to his side, for those who do not remember the villain of the first volume, and also want Magnus and his power.
After receiving various attacks in New York, and being robbed of the Book of the White Magnus, Alec and the others are forced to leave for Shanghai to find Ragnor and take back the book, a very dangerous weapon in the hands of such powerful sorcerers. They leave home a little Max not yet able to control his powers that will drive Maryse crazy, not a little.
In Shanghai, things are not going well, but they meet old acquaintances, more precisely Jem, one of those characters we always like to read about, who will help them. But there is still another problem, all over the world portals give problems and therefore cannot be used by anyone.
It will be a wonderful adventure to see our shadowhunters use public transport, and move around Shanghai to try to save Magnus who has been stabbed with a weapon if it can be called, which puts him at a crossroads, die or go to the bad side.
On this point I make a clarification, which is not a spoiler at all if as I hope you have read the other books in the world of Shadowhunters. For those who love Magnus with all their heart like me, don’t worry he won’t die, first because a book of the trilogy is missing, and second because as we know Magnus and Alec also appear in The dark artifices, and also have to adopt Raf 😀
