What if it’s us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera
Hi Books Lovers,
I can say with immense joy that fall has come here too, and I would say that this fall is also bringing us a lot of new beautiful releases …
Among these, thanks to Mondadori, from today in all bookstores and digital stores, we finally have the masterpiece written four-handed by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, I’m talking about What if it’s us.
I must say the truth that I have seen Albertalli’s signature in this book a lot, not so much at the beginning as at the end, it gave me this feeling, even if the styles of these two authors are very similar to each other, this would also explain how they completed a work so spectacular, with so much meaning, that it could really enthrall any reader.
What if it’s us too it is a book against homophobia, a hymn to love, whatever it is, but also a book that makes us understand that we must never give up, but always continue to fight for what we want and in what that we believe. If our protagonists had given up after their first fortuitous meeting, this book would not even have existed. Ben and Arthur continued to struggle, and despite all the problems, the quarrels, the unspoken secrets, in the end their relationship has always returned to the origin, beautiful and pure. Forgiveness is what underlies everything.
And then this book from certain points of view can prove very realistic. Maybe not the development of their love story that really looks like a story from a Hollywood movie, a beautiful Hollywood movie I want to clarify; but the world around them, the circumstances, the whole outline is our palpable reality.
Ben and Arthur have their differences, and even little time to stay together, and therefore, in spite of everything, they will find a way to take advantage of those few days that remain to stay together to the fullest, and even if … ….. (spoiler that I won’t reveal) ………… it’s nice to see how things don’t change much in college.
What if it’s us tells a very sweet story, which can be read almost as a bedtime story, with a writing as soft as icing sugar, and Ben and Arthur are the sweetest couple I have ever read about.
