Hello Books Lovers,

it seems City of Ghosts came out a week ago, but a month has already passed, and the third volume of the trilogy will be out very soon, wow. But today we will talk about Tunnel of Bones, the second book that still sees Cassy and Jacob as protagonists. A lot of adventure, mysteries, poltergeists and a new city in this new release by Oscar Mondadori.

This time we are in Paris, the city of love, or of lights, it depends on the point of view and how romantic the person is. Cassy’s parents show about ghosts is progressing well, and this time she too will play an integral role as she has been given the assignment to take photos with which to advertise the series before launch.

Here too they will meet new characters who will help them in the mystery they will have to solve. Because the real adventure begins when Cassy begins to be haunted by a poltergeist, an evil ghost who is not tied to the veil, he is capable of doing evil in the world of humans as well. This is a little boy who no longer remembers his past, and he targets our protagonists to end up wreaking havoc all over Paris.

It won’t be easy to find out who he is and defeat him before they have to leave again for the last leg of their journey. Lara will be of help to them from a distance, and a new acquaintance, Adele, will help them on the spot, along with Pauline, their guide who says she doesn’t believe in ghosts, but she is only lying to herself.

I also liked this story a lot. The adventures of Cassy and Jacob are always very exciting for kids their age. If only everyone were so brave. Only one thing seems almost an incongruity, the fact that Cassy always disappears, knowing that her parents will ground her, but she happens to always escape with a trivial excuse. Her parents are supposed to be very protective, but in the end they are much more permissive than they seem.

I don’t know why, but if I devoured the first volume in a day, this one took me a few more. I liked it equally, but it didn’t give me that urge to stick to the pages, I took a lot more breaks than I normally would. That said, I have no idea what to expect for the third volume.

Jacob is getting stronger and stronger in the human world. I have some suspicions of what may happen next, but I will not say anything until I have confirmation. At this moment, in my head, they seem nonsense. Have you read these books? What do you think?

I dare say that I prefer Schwab in children’s books, in middle-grades, than in others.

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
