The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

Hello everyone,

It had been a long time since I’d read a dystopian, and I never thought I’d be so pleased with a reading. I’ve already read Passenger by Alexandra Bracken, and I was really looking forward to read this trilogy.

Now that I have done so I hope to be able to express the beauty of this book – it has made me feel emotions beyond the normal – and the skill of the author in writing it.
I have to admit, I never expected a story so engaging, and now I can not wait for the sequel to come out in Italian, and I also look forward to the release of the film to see if like other films from novels have turned the plot as they wanted to, or for once they managed to do justice to this phenomenal story.
As I wrote in the post the day of the release of the book, all the scenes of the trailer are exactly the same as the books’, even some jokes, and sincerely, even if it is only the trailer, I had never seen a film containing so many equal details to the book in my life.
Ruby has enormous power that she is afraid of because she can not control it. She spent six years of her life in a field, always trying not to let the PSF – special psi forces – discover her real skills.
When she is helped to escape she believes she’s finally safe, but Cate, the woman who helped her, like everyone else, has ulterior motives for her, so as soon as she has the chance, the only thing that she can do is run away, and finally she can find someone who really wants to help her.
Liam, Suzume and Charles have escaped from a field like her and are looking for a place called East River. She does not want to hurt them, because she knows she can do it even against her will, but they have no intention of abandoning her, especially Liam, even after she has had to show him her power to save them.
Together they face a lot of things. When they finally get to East River they believe they are safe, along with all those guys like them. They can learn to use their powers better, but the truth is that they have not seen anything yet …
I’ve never tried the emotions I felt with this masterpiece. I had already had the opportunity to see the skill of Alexandra Bracken, but I would never have imagined this.
I only tell you that I am not an emotional person. I have never cried for a book or a film – only with “A bridge to Terabithia” – but I can tell you that at the end of this book I found myself with bated breath and tears in my eyes. There was a scene, and if you read the book I’m sure you’ll understand what I’m talking about, for which my heart has literally lost a beat in shock. There were also a lot of funny scenes, which eased the tension. In short, in this book there is just everything that a reader needs to get lost in the pages of the story.
If you read this dystopian YA I assure you that you will not be able to stay until you also have the second volume in your hands, I wait for its release day with anxiety, and I’m also looking forward to the release of the film, because the curiosity to see the cinematographic transposition of this book is devouring me from within.

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
