Storm and Fury by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Hello Books Lovers,
by now you all know how much I love Jennifer L. Armentrout, and although there are some sagas that I have yet to complete, such as the covenant series for which I am currently reading the fourth volume, I also wanted to start Storm and Fury, the spinoff trilogy of the Dark Elements series, called the Harbinger trilogy for which, just yesterday, thanks to Harper Collins, the second volume, rage and ruin, was released here in Italy.
My favorite Dark Elements character is Roth, no doubt on that, yet I greatly appreciated, throughout the trilogy, even Zayne, both for his charisma and for the fact that despite Layla has chosen Roth he has always remained an ally, and always helped her in everything despite his broken heart.
And finally here is that Zayne also has his moment to shine, in a trilogy in which he is the protagonist along with Trinity, a human, who later in the story we will discover to be something more. Her ability is to see ghosts and spirits, but her true abilities go much further. Trinity is the last of her kind, which is why she was raised by the guardians who had to keep her hidden from the world.
Now something worse is happening. Someone is killing the Guardians, and this is where Zayne and Nicolai and Dez come in. They need all the help they can get to find out what’s going on. Because Trinity is in grave danger too, and the fact that something is blooming between her and Zayne doesn’t help the Guardians to remain impartial, it doesn’t help Zayne, even though, as we’ll soon find out, Trinity is more than capable of looking after herself.
There are some important events in this period, but one of them ends badly. Humans, commanded by a demon, end up invading the territory of the guardians and wreaking havoc with weapons and bombs, and it is on this occasion that Misha, the keeper of Trinity, is taken by the enemies. Right now the girl’s biggest goal is to find her best friend at all costs, she knows he is alive, and she will find him.
Being a book by Armentrout we can’t expect anything less than a beautiful and engaging love story, and a lot of action, breathtaking situations amalgamated with great skill with daily actions. For me it is always a joy to read her books, they are similar and at the same time very different from each other, but they all have that fast-paced and addictive rhythm that a good book must have.
As a rating I don’t feel like giving 5 stars. I have now learned that each sequel to an Armentrout saga is even more beautiful than the previous one and so I want to reserve the 5 stars for Rage and Ruin, or better yet for the last volume which we hope will arrive soon. Obviously the evaluation of this is very close to a full 5, let’s make a 4.5 come on. And please do not miss my stop for the review party for Rage and Ruin on April 19th, I’ll be waiting for you !!
