Dear Books Lovers,

welcome to another Review Party. This month has been characterized by so many wonderful releases, all worthy of having their event, and so here we are again here …

Today I’m talking to you about Sei di Corvi di Leigh Bardugo, who thanks to Mondadori has finally landed here also in Italy.

I already had the opportunity to read this book a couple of years ago in the original language, but I did not write a review the first time, and when I saw that it was about to come out in Italian I couldn’t let it go, the perfect time had come for a reread, and here you have finally the review; better late than never…

If you want to read a book by Bardugo, but don’t know which one, I recommend you start with this. At least I started with this. Before six of crows I had never read anything about the author, and yes, you may be thinking that this is set in the same world as her previous trilogy, but it means nothing because they are two completely different stories that can be read separately. That remains a secret, but I still haven’t read that trilogy 🙁

Anyway, in this book, I tell you, you will find the first 40 pages a little slow, I tell you the truth, but I also tell you not to be discouraged and go further or you will regret it because this story really has a worldbuilding that goes beyond any imagination, and the characters are one more beautiful and mysterious than the other, although not many. But the best part is that they have their own chapters, so each chapter is from a different character’s point of view …

And then there is the fact that they are criminals, so it will not be the usual story with the heroes who solve the problem, because Kaz, Inej, Nina and the others will show you a different face of the stories that are always told. Six of crows and a book not to be missed, and I am delighted not to have to wait long for the sequel that I have yet to read and will arrive, again thanks to Mondadori, in November.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone. . . .
A convict with a thirst for revenge.
A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager.
A runaway with a privileged past.
A spy known as the Wraith.
A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums.
A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.

Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo returns to the breathtaking world of the Grishaverse in this unforgettable tale about the opportunity—and the adventure—of a lifetime.

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
