Hello Books Lovers,

How are you? Another week began and with it many new bookish releases. What is your current reading? I’ve just finished reading rage and ruin and I’m in trepidation because I don’t know if I’ll be able to wait for the third volume, the real problem is that I can’t even read it in English since it will come out in June, argh.

If you are here to read this review I assume that you have already read storm and fury, if not, I would advise you to stop now with the reading. To explain the story well, there will be spoilers inherent to the first volume that I can’t help but do, and if you want to experience the surprise while reading then you should close the page. It will be a pleasure for me to start this review right away and how does each Armentrout sequel start? With a broken heart of course!

A small recap of the previous volume, and if you haven’t read the review, I posted it just 3 days ago 🙂
Zayne has discovered what Trinity is, and the great power she carries within her that she is unable to fully use without risking killing herself. She is a Nephilim, daughter of one of the most powerful archangels and it is now Zayne’s job, after what happened with Misha, to protect her at all costs.

Rage and Ruin picks up exactly the next morning from where we left off in storm and fury. And before I said a broken heart because, apart from losing Misha, her best friend, Trinity has somehow lost Zayne too. Now he is her keeper, he is tied to her, and if she wants to follow the rules that have always been inculcated, she cannot fall in love with her keeper, nor have a love affair with him.

While this turns out to be a big heart problem for Trinity, there is an even bigger problem, and certainly even more destructive. The Messenger has come to earth to destroy everything, even the higher demons are afraid of it, more afraid of what they should be for Trinity, Nephilim able to destroy them without thinking twice.

Obviously the main goal will be to locate the messenger and destroy it, but it will not be easy at all. Between adventures, dangers and disappointments we will come to the end colliding against a cliffhanger of masters which, however, left me with emotions that I cannot even describe. I can’t say much more about the plot but I really hope that if you haven’t already you will give this trilogy a chance.

As I mentioned in the previous review, I had already foreseen that the sequel would be even more beautiful than the first volume, as basically always happens with all the Armentrout’s books, she always knows how to satisfy the reader. Personally I also found a Trinity even more tenacious and combative, especially after confessing to Zayne about her degenerative disease, it is as if this gave her even more strength and more energy. And then I find myself having to give the 5 stars so coveted at this volume.

Book 2 of The Harbinger contemporary fantasy series features angels, demons and gargoyles in a battle to save humanity. For fans of Cassandra Clare, Gena Showalter and Holly Black.

A half human, half angel and her bonded gargoyle protector must work with demons to stop the apocalypse while avoiding falling in love. The Harbinger is coming…but who or what is it? All of humankind may fall if Trinity and Zayne can’t win the race against time as dark forces gather…and Lucifer himself may walk the earth once more.
Tensions rise and Zayne and Trinity must stay close together and patrol the D.C. streets at night, seeking signs of the Harbinger, an entity that is killing Wardens and demons with no seeming rhyme or reason. Forbidden to be with each other, they fight their feelings and turn to unusual sources for help–the demon Roth and his cohorts. But as more deaths pile on and they uncover a sinister plot involving the local high school and endangering someone dear to Zayne, Trin realizes she is being led…herded…played for some unknown end. As anger builds and feelings spiral out of control, it becomes clear that rage may be the ruin of them all.

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
