I’m having a lot of mixed feelings right now. I’m glad that Cassie Clare always publishes wonderful books set in the world of Shadowhunters, which as I told you is the world that brought me closer to fantasy reading. But at the same time I am very sad because The Dark Artificies’ trilogy has come to an end.
Cassie will never stop being my favorite author, and amaze me with new and familiar stories. When I read, a book set in shadowhunters World, I feel at home, I feel like I already know everything about the story and the characters because they are so familiar to me that they seem real. I always wonder what would have happened if I had never read city of bones. In 2013 when I saw the poster of the film I wanted to venture and read the book, before the film. My passion started there. And Clare’s been on my top list ever since. She began to write mammoth books, stories that could break every barrier, intrigue, love, betrayals that only she is able to create.
A true master of the fantasy genre. And while two more of her books will soon be released this year, I can’t help but be sad about the end of this story. I’m never going to forget everything that happened in this book, because there’s been so much, but really a lot. The story began where it left off in Lord of Shadows, and from there it was divided into many pieces, each with its own goal. But the characters! I have no idea how to describe them. Every time with Clare I end up falling in love with everyone. This time my favorites, which I will never really forget, are Mark and Kieran, and Ty and Kit, and Julian and Emma of course.
And fortunately very often we also have appearances by old characters like Clary and Jace, Magnus and Alec, Simon and Isabelle and others, who are pillars in the history of the Shadowhunters.
The Shadowhunters Chronicles is a series that I would never want to come to an end, and even though Cassie already has some books planned I can’t think that sooner or later she will stop with these stories to devote herself totally to something else. In the meantime, however, I look forward to the next books with anxiety and joy.
