Prince’s Gambit by C. S. Pacat
Hi everyone,
today’s review is on “Prince’s Gambit” by C. S. Pacat, sequel to “Captive prince”. If you have read the review of the first book, of which I leave the link, you will remember that I found some slow parts, and then I could not enjoy it, but I said that I would have continued the series, and I’m very happy to have done it because this book is total perfection.
It literally stole my heart. I do not think I’ve ever shipped any characters so much, like I do for Laurent and Damen. I love them together, they are too good, and there was not a moment when I did not hope they would kiss.
Laurent still does not know that Damen is the prince who killed his brother, but it’s better this way for now. Damen really cares for him, he is doing everything in his power to help him fight his uncle, the regent.
In this volume really happen a lot of things in too less pages, I would have wished that the book was much, much longer.
Laurent is always a cold, authoritative prince whose brain never stops grinding ideas and machinations. When he gets angry he can become really cruel, and he has the abilities to hurt someone just with his words, and the only one who can afford to speak to him in those moments is Damen, who is so used to the prince’s malice that it doesn’t have any effect on him. The book runs almost entirely around them, which is why I adored it and read it quickly with great pleasure.
To the next time,
