Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer
Hello Books Lovers,
15 years have passed since Twilight arrived in American bookstores, an instant best seller starring supernatural creatures that never go out of fashion, vampires, but in particular, different vampires, able to stay under the light of the sun, but not being able to do it in front of humans because of their skin, with special abilities, each different from the other, and more importantly with a conscience.
And a few years later the film based on the series of books that caused a sensation all over the world was released in cinemas. Yet the original books are narrated from Bella Swan’s point of view, and yesterday, after 10 years of writing and rewriting, the new book that Stephenie Meyer has wanted to keep for herself for all this time arrived in Italy. Midnight Sun, containing the same events as Twilight but told from the point of view of the beautiful and dark Edward Cullen.
And even if the book is actually mammoth who would not want to relive everything by discovering Edward’s sensations, his secrets, his obsessions and the most mysterious things that we have never discovered like: where does he go when he is missing for a couple of days from school immediately after Bella’s arrival? Or what is it that makes him so close to her when the Cullens have never bonded with humans all their lives so as not to arouse suspicion? How does it feel when James arrives in town?
All curiosities that, however, having a saga of books told from the point of view of the female protagonist, we could never actually know if not through unfounded theories of the fans, and finally Midnight Sun is here in our hands ready to be opened and read and drained by all its secrets.
I will not be here to tell you the plot, I am almost sure that most of you like me already know it, and who does not know it is because it has always found the Twilight saga out of its reach and its genres and it is totally understandable since everyone has their own tastes. Yet, however, I can tell you, wether you have read the books, or only seen the movies like me, you can’t miss Midnight Sun, after all what makes a story complete if not the events told from the point of view of both protagonists?
It’s nice to discover all kinds of curiosities also because in Twilight Bella she always keeps wondering why Edward behaves that way with her, why he hates her if they don’t even know each other, etc., and here we can see all these why to have an answer after 15 years .
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella’s side of the story. At last, readers can experience Edward’s version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun.
This unforgettable tale as told through Edward’s eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire. As we learn more fascinating details about Edward’s past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life. How can he justify following his heart if it means leading Bella into danger?
In Midnight Sun, Stephenie Meyer transports us back to a world that has captivated millions of readers and brings us an epic novel about the profound pleasures and devastating consequences of immortal love.
