Hello Books Lovers,

it’s finally my turn to talk to you about “It ain’t me, babe” the new Always Publishing book, which I thank as always for the chance to read it, written by Tillie Cole that some of you may already know because Always has published two more of her books.

It ain’t me, babe is a very different book from my usual reading, I had never read anything like it, and it was wonderful.

I don’t even know where to start to talk about this book, but perhaps the right way is that of narration. This was my first Tillie Cole book and I really liked the writing method. It goes straight to the point, it’s all very discursive and with not many details, but with those necessary to keep the reader always on the story without distractions of any kind.

I would also say that the chosen theme is very strong. She herself at the end of the book wrote that she based the book on a true story. And then if one thinks about it at first glance, joining a cult with a gang of bikers doesn’t sound very good, it would seem almost strange, yet Tillie managed to amalgamate the two beautifully.

Styx and Mae met when he was only ten and she was eight, but neither of them, even after 15 years, has forgotten the other since that meeting. And it is just after 15 years that by a fortuitous case they meet again, and Styx immediately realizes that she is that little girl who had haunted his mind for years.

From here one would hope things turn out for the best, but a lot has happened since Mae joins the gang. Rider wants her for himself, but Styx is the one she belongs to, and the danger never stops, between the cult looking for Mae and other gangs who want to attack the Hangmen. Mae has just healed when she gets hurt again, everything is falling apart again. And after a month that things seem to get better they get worse again.

Among the hangmen there is a mole from the cult. They find Mae and with her they also take Styx and Ky, and by now we are at the end but Mae will really be separated from Styx, again, or will they find a solution to save them all? You can only find out by reading the book. Also because it looks like a long book but when reading it will seem shorter than ever.

I can’t wait for the other books in the saga to come out too. I have already taken a peek at the plots XD . And then let me say that Always’s choice to keep the original cover fits perfectly, the covers are wonderful.

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
