Good Morning Books Lovers,
welcome back to Me and Books. Today, even if a little late, thanks to Mondadori who provided me with this book, I have prepared for you the review of Invictus by Ryan Graudin. If you remember I had already reviewed two other books of this author. I’m talking about wolf and Wolf 2 (DeA).
I loved this author right away for her fluent and engaging writing method, and for Invictus it was the same. Fantastic characters, compelling story and time travel explained down to the smallest details that made me feel like I was inside the story.
During the reading, however, I felt like something was missing. In comparison to wolf by wolf there was something less, nevertheless this story never disappointed me. There are not many ways to describe the way this story is new and compelling in unique ways. Not many fantasy speaks of time travel and Ryan Graudin managed to hit the mark as best as she could.
Farway Mccarthy was born out of time because he was born on a shuttle traveling home from ancient Rome. This birth of his is the real core of the whole story, because it caused a sort of problem in the multiverse.
Far’s life was not the best. His mother disappeared, he was rejected at his final exam because of a Marie Antoinette who noticed him…
He was forced to accept illegal work. Traveling illegally over time to bring in the current time wrecks of the past that are worth a fortune. But when he is finally building a happy life with his time machine, a crew he trusts and a girlfriend he is in love with, Eliot appears and upsets everything. From here begins their adventure to try to change the past and save the present.
A true and original story full of everything, the perfect story to read during the Christmas period.
