Ice like Fire by Sara Raasch

Goodmorning everyone,

This book has been sent to me by the Italian publisher, sequel to Snow like Ashes by Sara Raasch, of which unfortunately I have the review only in Italian.

This reading has been full of ups and downs, from the beginning. I liked the initial part of the book. The beginning, although it was not so full, has helped a lot to understand how the Winterians are doing, after what happened at the end of the first volume. But from the 50th page, almost to the end, I did not like it. I did not find it at all exciting, or rather I did not find the chapters narrated by Meira exciting, even if the story was interesting enough. I loved the chapters very much from Mather’s third-person perspective. Every time, knowing that sooner or later his chapter would arrive, I could go on reading. They were really few, but all beautiful.

What has changed my judgment to this book, leading me to give it 4 stars, was the amazing ending, and full, but really full of twists I had not even thought about. Throughout the book the author was so good as to mislead me from any suspicion. Everything I never thought would happen, it happened, and it was amazing and at the same time sad in some aspects.

The first book had become part of my Top 10, although I don’t think this will be part of it, I know for sure that this will always remain in my heart for its literally breathtaking finale. I still can not believe it ended up like that (I can not tell you how, they would be too big spoilers, it’s up to you to find out what I’m talking about.) I can’t wait for Mondadori to publish the third of the trilogy. After that I had to start reading Fandom by Anna Day, but I could not read more than one chapter because my head was somewhere else, it will take me some time to recover :).

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
