Welcome back Books Lovers,

here we are in this second part of promotion at the imminent release of the Hunger Games prequel, whose protagonist will be a young President Snow. Today I am here again to talk to you about the second volume of the trilogy, and in two days I’ll be right here for you for the third and last volume with Katniss Everdeen as the protagonist.

Also citing the film in this article, I have to say that the events in the book are slower and more controlled compared to the cinematographic transposition. We get to the clue events with more calm and reflection, and in comparison to the first film I found a little more detachment from the original story, even if the most significant details have not been touched.

Moving on to the book. Katniss and Peeta won the 74th Hunger Games. For the first time in history there have been two winners, but President Snow is furious. He understood that Katniss was just a staging, he goes to District 12 himself to tell her in person. He took the girl’s gesture as a sign of defiance towards him and Capitol City and now all districts are in revolt.

Katniss has to do something to fix things, but it will fail and then things will start to go wrong. The 75th Hunger Games are upon us. This is the year of the third anniversary of the games, there will be something special. Twenty-five years earlier, in honor of the fiftieth anniversary, double tributes were chosen for each district. Something much more sensational is being done for this year. A way to punish everyone and try to restore order. But the president’s plan will not be so successful, but will create more chaos and anger among the districts and in particular its winners.

A war is approaching that not even the agents of Capitol City will be able to quell. And the best thing about this dystopian trilogy is that it could be read a million times and always takes, always fascinates the reader, or at least it was for me. Some books today do not have the same impact that some sagas like Hunger Games had, these are the books that will never be forgotten. And I am eager to read the prequel, and find out what the life of the young Corolanius Snow was like, who as we can read from the plot is assigned to mentor a girl from district 12 with whom he falls in love. President Snow in love with a girl from District 12? Is possible that all his hatred comes from there? I will go deeper into it with the review, and I really hope the book will live up to my expectations, which are really high.

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
