Happy Weekend Books Lovers,

It’s been a year since the release of Crystal Smith’s Bloodleaf for Mondadori. A fantasy book that I remember very well reading in the blink of an eye and having loved it madly. Bloodleaf has one of those stories that, despite all the books I read in a year, remains in the lead for its beauty and peculiarity, but above all in my case for its romance factor and for its mysterious characters.

Despite all the problems, 2020 has been a year full of thrilling releases, and this can be good or bad. Good because one gets distracted and does not think about that story that they would so much like to read, but bad because they will have to wait a year or so to read that long-awaited story anyway.

This case was no different, and at the beginning of Greythorne it was disappointing me because the story didn’t seem as exciting as the first book, but I kept reading and finally got to that point where things finally started to take the right turn for us readers, not so much for the characters, but finally the story has started to take a more interesting pace.

An important character returns, but new discoveries are made by Aurelia, not so pleasant discoveries. Remember the blood pact that was made in the first book? Two of those people have already died and Aurelia must find a way to free Kellan before they both die. They embark on a rather risky journey to find answers on the tracks given to them in a dream by Simon.

But a new character comes into play and is not on the side of the good guys. But in the end it was foreseeable that killed one another one will come, otherwise what kind of story would it be? However, after that brief initial trauma, the story resumed, with the same smoothness seen in the first volume. Let’s say that there was a need to get used to the story again and then it passed like never before. Keep in mind that to read this fateful first part it took me 3 days because I just didn’t want to read it and I always switched to other readings, and then I read the rest of the 200 pages in one day. Now all I have to do is wait for the next volume, but in the meantime, let’s move on to the next reading!

Princess Aurelia’s life is turned upside down when the kingdom she thought she saved turns to ruin, a loved one is tragically killed in a shipwreck, and her home country refuses to respect her brother’s legitimate claim to the throne. With no place left to call her own, Aurelia returns to Greythorne Manor—her best friend’s family mansion—only to get swept up in a coup d’état on the night of her brother’s coronation.
With everyone turned against her and enemies closing in on all sides, Aurelia has nothing left to lose in a mad fight to protect the only people she has left—her family. But in her darkest moments when all seems grim, will Aurelia find a spark of hope from a love she thought long lost?

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
