Hello everyone,

today I will try to talk to you about Frost like Night by Sara Raasch, final volume of the trilogy begun with Snow like Ashes, followed by Ice like Fire.

As you well know – I start from the beginning – I liked the first book a lot. But i didn’t felt the same for the sequel, which I liked a lot less but it was saved with the breathtaking finale that made me want to read the third as soon as possible, with the hope of a more hypnotic ending. So, alas, it was not. Disappointing is a strong word, but for Frost like Night is the only adjective that I can associate.

Obviously my thought is subjective, because I know many who have loved it, and others who have not even managed to finish it.

This review is what gave me the strength to finish it. To know that in the end I could talk with you readers and vent me a bit. All I need to do is go and see that it took me 18 days to finish this … this very long rate of time says it all. When I had lost hope, I started to read at the same time White hot kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout: it was so exciting that I read it in 4 days, just because I had to spend some time reading Frost like Night otherwise I would have finished it before.

I do not know why but during these last two books I developed a certain aversion to the character of Meira. On the other hand, I fell in love a lot with the Jesse-Ceridwen couple. The only times I liked reading the chapters of Meira was when she was with Mather. POV exclusively of Meira have become a real torture throughout books. I read the others with great pleasure, but when I got to her chapters I had to turn off the kobo for a while. I can not explain how it could happen since she is the main character.

In the end, however, to get back to the story, they have completed their mission, with however suffering losses. The flaw of the final? For me it was too predictable.

I do not know if you read the other books. Let me know. However, I can not give this book more than three stars, indeed, this judgment is rather gracious thanks to a marriage that has earned a starlet.
