Dear Books Lovers,

Today’s review will be very negative and brief. The book I’m about to talk to you about is Fairytale by Danielle Steel.

Fairytale is a book that had a lot of success, written by an author that I love for her romances. Though I don’t have that same positive opinion for this books too. I didn’t liked it at all unfortunately.

If we consider the book cover, and the plot itself, it might be the best book of the world, but when we start reading everything change. My judgement turned to negative since the first pages, but i continued until the end because I didn’t want to misjudge. At the end my judgment didn’t change. The book had a very slow beginning, and boring, and it kinda kept that pace until the end. The third person narration felt very far from the whole story. I couldn’t even know how to express a proper judgment about this book. It didn’t get me at all.

Another thing I noticed is that almost every paragraph start the same way. “The day after”, or similiar sentences with the same meaning. I struggled to follow the whole story.

I still leave you the plot, maybe you’ll have a different thought.

Fairytale is a captivating story of a daughter’s love and courage, and the hope that good really can prevail over evil. Camille Lammenais had a perfect childhood growing up in California’s beautiful Napa Valley, surrounded by acres of her family’s vineyards. Her parents, Christophe and Joy, still deeply in love after two decades of marriage, have built a renowned winery and chateau inspired by Christophe’s native Bordeaux. After graduating, Camille returns to fulfil her lifetime ambition – helping to run Chateau Joy. But the fairytale suddenly ends with her Joy’s death. Six months after losing his wife, Christophe is easy prey for a mysterious, charming French countess visiting the valley. Camille, still grieving for her mother, is shocked that her father risks being trapped, and cannot seem to see past the alluring looks, designer clothes and elegant manners. As Camille’s world falls apart, it will take all of her strength and all the help she can get to fight for her family’s legacy.

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
