Hello Books Lovers,

welcome back to Me and Books with this 1 of 2 review party of the day. Another Oscar book, another joy. Cheshire Crossing then is not a normal story, but rather a retelling, in the form of a graphic novel, or perhaps more than retelling, a sequel to three of the best-known stories for children: Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz.

Andy Weir, author of The Martian and Artemis, at the dawn of his career as a writer had a blog where he liked to draw and write stories, like Cheshire Crossing with, as he defined them, horrible drawings. But his story liked and managed to publish, and the drawings were redone by Sarah Andersen who made this graphic novel spectacular.

A reinterpretation / sequel of three stories that made every child dream. And for the first time, after Once upon a time (the TV series) Dorothy, Wendy and Alice find themselves in the same story.

They actually meet in an asylum because of the adventures they had as little girls and which always made adults think they were crazy. But they know how things really are and when they get together and Alice uses Dorothy’s shoes to go to Oz things start off badly and all three will have to use their skills and knowledge to sort things out once again.

In this book we will have Captain Hook, the wicked witch of the west, the red queen, the caterpillar, the mad hatter, the witch cat, Sponge, the witch of the east, the monkeys, peter pan himself, and many other characters all in the same book to make the story even more intriguing.

The good guys will have to join forces to restore peace to the various worlds and defeat again the bad guys who in one way or another will come into contact with each other by joining forces against our heroines. But they have already saved Oz / Wonderland / Neverland and they have their own connections, their allies who will help them once again.

A story for young and old to read in one breath and rejoice with its beautiful and vivid illustrations.

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
