Books Lovers,

we came to our last adventure together with Lily and Thorn. Burning Magic is the final volume of Joshua Khan’s Shadow Magic trilogy.

I’m not going to talk about the structure, because if you have read my previous reviews you will know that Joshua Khan is a phenomenal author who manages to add a lot in the same book, balancing everything. He put popular stories, legends, and much more, all amalgamated with the world he created.

Lily has now become the Witch Queen, many responsibilities rest on her. One of her duties is to go and take part in the coronation of Sa’if’s brother in the sultanate of fire. Lily carries her Zombies with her and Thorn carries Hades, but neither of them are well seen because they are considered dangerous, just as they consider the witch queen dangerous.

But things start to get complicated soon, because during the coronation the magic of the future sultan abandons him and dies burned. Everyone obviously starts asking questions, and our protagonists begin to think that it wasn’t an accident.

From here they embark on a journey to find a phoenix, to find out who killed Sa’if’s brother, and come across old unreliable acquaintances. In short, the adventure never ends in Burning Magic, the real sadness is that it is the last of the trilogy. With the ending that this book has, I would have expected at least a sequel that is not currently in the author’s plans. But Josh! You can’t complete a series with an open ending like this, you can’t!

And if you haven’t read the previous books yet, well what are you waiting for !?

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
