Brilliance by Anthony Mccarten
Good morning Books Lovers,
and happy book birthday to ” Brilliance” by Anthony McCarten.
As soon as I received the Frassinelli newsletter and saw that this book on Thomas Edison was coming out today, I couldn’t miss it, I immediately had to request it to the publisher and put aside all my readings to devour this masterpiece.
You understood by now that if they are “biographical” books of icons of the past, I absolutely have to read them. I read this book in just a few days and I can tell you it’s amazing! Contrary to what one might think, this book is fluent and nice, it is almost a joy to read it.
Brilliance was really a breath of fresh air after so many books that did not satisfy me 100%. Read about Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, the phonograph, and much much more; going through his entire life through 300 pages has been amazing. This is definitely not like a history book, it’s instructive and fun – and I know perfectly well that these two words shouldn’t be close together, but in this case I can’t help it.
A step in the history of a great evolution for humanity as if I myself had been one of Edison’s helpers – which I would have wished for;) And the great thing is that in this book there is not only Edison, but many others famous personalities of the past such as JP Morgan, Nikola Tesla, Whitcomb Judson, and Einstein and others are also mentioned, but I’m not gonna stay here to list them. If you want to find out who they are you’ll have to read the boo. I assure you will love it.
Soon I’ll need to read The Darkest Hour , the other book by this author on Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
