Dear Books Lovers,

you have no idea how much Always Publishing made me happy when they decided to publish a new book by Meagan Brandy, the author I met with Fake it ‘til you break it and with whom I fell in love. Consequently, I would never have been able to miss a book like Badly behaved, which after reading I can say is slightly more Spicy than Fake it ‘til you break it.

Jameson is, relatively, a good girl. She is the kind of girl from an important family who has to maintain a certain facade outside her circle, not ending up on gossip sites and be a good daughter and follow her mother’s rules, in that regard she doesn’t even have any active social accounts. On the other hand, however, when she is with her circle of friends whom she trusts, there is no shortage of parties one day and the other.

This is her life until the Blackout boys, three best friends, Ramson, Beretta and Arsen, who have a not so good reputation behind them, make they’re appearence. They are not known to be good guys, they are known to create chaos, disasters, make girls look bad and turn off the lights at parties. They are the kind of girls Jameson’s mother wouldn’t want near her even in a dream.

But Jameson is realizing that she is tired of following her mother’s orders, after all she will have to marry the man her mother wants for her – who is eleven years older – when she turns eighteen, so why not have a good time before?

This book, by its new adult standards, is one of the most sinful books I have ever read. It’s not so much what Jameson does with the boys, but what the three of them, together, do to her. At the end of the story their whole plan had some underlying sense, a more than valid reason, up to a point, to target Jameson, but everything that happens in between is the real mystery because, even if Jameson apparently seems to have three lives, the one with the boys, the one with her rich friends and the one with her future husband, in reality everything is somehow connected.

I will reiterate until the end that Meagan Brandy, in writing Romance, is a genius, because in many romances there is only that, the romance, without a background plot, without a real past of the characters etc. Brandy, on the other hand, creates a mystery, an adventure, a complicated past with many skeletons to uncover that she brings out little by little, creates a plot and throws the romance parts into it, in a strategic way.

I love her writing, also for its fluency. If we want to count the time it took me to read this book, it was probably less than 24 hours because I started it in the evening and the next evening I had already finished it. This says a lot about her writing because as much as a book is fluent, it must also be passionate to be read in no time.

With super smooth writing, the author has chosen to write Badly behaved in first person from Jameson’s point of view with only one final chapter from the point of view of one of the male protagonists, the one who will have Jameson’s heart despite her continuing to attest that love is a weakness and not worth it. You can understand from this that Jameson will not follow what her mother wrote for her but will write her future herself in a little happy ending.

I strongly advise you to read Meagan Brandy, and I also appeal to Always Publishing, on my knees, to bring other Brandy books to Italy because I love her and I’m sure this is not just my thought because so far I have seen only people who have loved badly behaved. Having said that, I leave you to your readings 🙂

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
