American gods 3 – The moment of the storm by Neil Gaiman
Hello Books Lovers,
today I’m talking to you about the third and final American Gods graphic novel written by Neil Gaiman and based on his own book. The subtitle of this graphic is “the moment of the storm” and taking into account the events of the two previous volumes this title says too much.
If you are on par with the readings, keep reading, I will still try not to spoil, but I cannot omit important details to explain the story well. If you have read the original novel you will already know how it will end, after all from what I have read around these graphic novels have remained very faithful.
As you can deduce from the subtitle the war has arrived, after all it was inevitable since for two entire volumes the war was the only real thing we were going against. And the old gods with the new ones meet in central America.
Shadow never thought he would one day find himself embroiled in such a battle. Nor would he ever believe in the true existence of all those gods and the fact that he was an important pawn in their existence. But now here he is, a believer, who instead of running away decides to act in the first person.
Wednesay was killed, ambushed, and it is Shadow’s job, along with other characters, to go and recover his body. As always, during the travel Shadow meets new characters, new gods, including an old acquaintance of his from the time of prison.
Between the reappearance of new and old characters, after recovering the body, Shadow’s journey often takes on unpleasant traits. It is a continuum of challenges to overcome, obstacles to overcome, in order to receive something in return, risking his own life, losing his own life.
But basically it all started for Wednesday and his battle and everything will end for Wednesday and his battle.
It was a very interesting trip and I would say quite different from usual. But basically Neil Gaiman is like that for those who don’t know him, he always does the unexpected. He always adds what the reader could never have thought was there in the book, he almost has a sixth sense to be able to amaze.
The new and old gods agree to meet in the center of America to exchange the body of the old gods’ fallen leader–heading towards the inevitable god war in this final arc to the bestselling comic series!
