Good morning everyone,

Today is a very important day because many books come out like Sarah Fine’s Uncanny and Tristina Wright’s 27 Hours, and the book’s protagonist of today’s review, Select by Marit Weisenberg.

The book speaks of these people who come from an ancient tribe through which they inherited special skills such as not aging as others, the ability to heal quickly, many times to move things with thought, and so on.

The lives of these guys, though controlled, are normal, all this until Julia, in the sake of saving her sister, is likely to reveal to everyone present their true skills. To prevent this happening again, her father, leader of their society, transfers Julia from a private school attended by her friends and her sister to a public school to learn how to control.

Everyone knows her family of fame, so at first she is not accepted. But here she also meets John, already known to the beach, who has seen all that has happened and has suspicions about her nature. Between the two, something is born. They date, they go out together. Everything is difficult because she is aware that she can not stay with him. Everything becomes more complicated when he discovers everything about the girl, because at this point Julia and all those like her have to change cities.

But in spite of that, what is born between the two guys is something big that can not be broken, so when it’s time to leave, Julia decides she wants to stay with John, especially now that she is 18, despite her father counts on her as his possible heirs for her out of the ordinary skills.

Initially I found the book a bit slow, I said I could not finish it, I was ready to abandon, when the story became more intriguing. The impossible love story between Julia and John intrigued me a lot and from then on history has gone by itself. It exceeded my expectations, which were really low despite the plot I was pretty nice.

Now I can not find those stories that once attracted me from the first page to the last, books that I read all about in a breath, but despite this I recommend it because it is a simple and pretty story.

Mi chiamo Miriam e sono l'amministratore di Me and Books.
